Bangkok 6D5N 2013

Bangkok Day One.
[Platinum Fashion Mall | Fuji Japanese Restaurant]

Yearly affair to the land of smiles. My third trip to bangkok and i'm having lesser and lesser photos (and buys) each time i'm there. My first trip - Bangkok 2011 (Part 1)Bangkok 2011 (Part 2)Bangkok 2011 (Part 3) and second trip - Bangkok 2012.

Was so busy shopping at DFS that we almost miss our flight and had our names hollered over the PA system of the entire Changi Airport. Rushed over to our gates to realize that our seats are all the way at the back of the plane and we had to board the plane with everybody staring at us. One of the most epic moment ever. Anyway, turbulence was pretty bad upon taking off. The whole plane was shaking like mad and there were some passengers at the front screaming. So much worse than the turbulence i'd for my Taiwan trip. Sigh, one of the reasons why i hate taking planes.

Checked in > Platinum > Dinner @ Fuji Japanese Restaurant (my all time fave).
+ street food to fill our ever-hungry tummy.

Bangkok Day Two.
[Platinum | Siam Center (Greyhound cafe) | Siam Paragon (After You) | Asiatique (Dinner @ Checkmate)]

Had breakfast in the hotel before heading back to platinum for shopping. Initial plan was to have lunch at Another Hound Cafe because i really want to try the red velvet waffles that everybody were raving about. It was sadly under renovation so we settled for Greyhound instead. Final verdict from the 4 of us is that food was just ~normal~. Nothing much to rave about.

Hopped over to Siam Paragon to try the desserts at After You. We were in the queue for only ~15 minutes. Everything in the menu looks so good but we were full from lunch so we decided on three items to share.

Dopest of all - Shibuya Honey Toast (Really worth all the hype i'm not even kidding). It's really so good that we wanted to order another portion to share. Our molten lava cake arrived while we were savoring our toast while the chocolate cake was served last. The molten lava cake is pretty good as well (As good as the one i'd at Craft Bakery Cafe back in Sg).

We were saving the least bit of our stomach for Magnum Pleasure Store to get our customize ice-cream but it was unfortunately closed. Mega disappointment :(

Headed back to our hotel to drop our loots and then off we go to Asiatique.
Dinner at Checkmate > bought tickets to ride the Ferris Wheel > explore the area

Bangkok Day Three.
[Union Mall | Chinatown]

Initial plan was to head to Chatuchak but it was raining like mad so we left CTC for union mall. The two guys and ink lost themselves and shopped like mad. Had lunch at Shabushi which was timed and we only had 2 hours (i think) to eat. Free flow of everything *.* Ink and i did manicure while Shawn get a haircut and Jianrong went off to shop on his own. I couldn't get a good picture of our nails though :(

 Chinatown for seafood dinner.

The moment we alighted from the cab, we went searching for people wearing green shirts or pink shirts because i read online that these are the two stalls famous for their seafood. Indeed, the queue for both is frigging long and the place is so heavy with both human and vehicles traffic. Clams, prawns, fish, oysters and pineapple rice to fill our tummy.

Bangkok Day Four.
[Chatuchak | Roadside Zi Char]

It was drizzling slightly in the morning but lucky all was good upon arriving at Chatuchak. Sigh, i had this major fear for the heat at CTC. I remembered sweating like mad and spending a whole lot of money buying drinks the last two time i was there. & nope, i was not spared this time either. But of course, coconut ice-cream to the rescue! Lunch was pineapple rice, tom yum goong and mango sticky rice. My life is complete.

Halfway through the day, Shawn got a case of really bad food poisoning so we had to go back to the hotel. Had some tough time communicating with the staffs at the convenience store and medical hall before we managed to get the right medicine. While Shawn gets his rest, the three of us headed out for dinner. Brought ink and jianrong to the open area zi char place outside Central World for dinner. Was too lazy to take pictures b'coz i already had photos of the place the last time i was there. Anyway, i'm not sure if we're considered lucky but the rain starts pouring right after we are done with our meal. Had to seek shelter because the storm is so bad and my heart goes all out to those who are having their dinner halfway through.

Bangkok Day Five.
[MBK | Roast | Mr Jones' Orphanage | Sirocco Sky Bar | Ping Pong Show]

Minimal shopping was done for the day, more of just eating and chilling

Love how pretty the interior is *.*
Plus the large array of cakes on display. Heaven is a place on earth.

Had drinks & sides at Sirocco Sky Bar which is pretty costly. Took quite a few photos but the pictures turned out pretty bad so i'd them deleted. Like what i always say, "The best camera that we have is our eyes. Let our eyes capture what we see and our heart to always remember such moments." It's a pity i can't share the great view we'd of the city though. Headed for the Ping Pong Show subsequently. It was my second time watching but mehz i'm still pretty bored by the entire thing. Plus i hate how money-sucker the people there are. Nonetheless, an eye-opener for the rest since they've never been there.

Bangkok Day Six.
[Famous Wanton Mee | Terminal 21]

Headed over to the famous wanton mee beside Glow for lunch. The queue was madness when we left. Went to Terminal 21 after which. Love the concept of the entire mall but i was again, uhm too lazy to take much photos. Found coconut ice-cream at the foodcourt yay!! Anyway the four of us were wearing matching superman tees which i find cute and a little embarrassing at the same time.

Spent our last penny on our last meal at the airport and then, back to sunny Singapore. Because i fell sick and was having flu, my ear was blocked throughout the entire night from landing. My ears were hurting so badly from the air pressure for 'bout half an hour prior to landing and i thought i almost died in the plane. So yes, second reason why i hate taking the plane. I don't even know why i'm always having this problem from the flight back to Sg ugh sucks to be me. Please let me know if anybody has a cure to this :"(

So yeap, that pretty much sums up my Bangkok trip this year. I hope to be back again, alone, in the near future. Because i know the streets and roads of bangkok pretty well, i wished to do a solo trip soon. That aside, i was (and still am) pretty fed up about the entire Tioman diving trip that i was supposed to go for a couple of weeks back. Not going into the details here but i was basically just damn pissed by how irresponsible the merchant is. Pretty bummed that the trip is cancelled mehz. Two more months till the next getaway, can't wait for dimsum landz~

Though it's already week 6 of school, i'm still not accustom to attending classes. Fighting a battle with myself daily, first to get off from my bed and the second, to step out of the house. Laziness has really got the better of me. Everyday i just feel like cooping in my nest, watch my dramas and go back to sleep. I'm at this phase of life whereby i really want to take a break from life and go back when i'm all ready to take on the world again. But reality hits me hard - Life. Goes. On. Sigh i hope i'm able to find back the spirit in me to keep going.

So sick of falling sick every single month. I don't even know what's wrong with my immune system but just give me a break already. Hate to be fighting with fever, flu, cough and sorethroat every now and then. On a happier note, had my last tuition class of the year yesterday whoop whoop. Having said that, it means i can finally have my meal on time (no more having breakfast at 11pm), no more mad rush from school to my tutees' places, no more having burdensome tuition lesson right smack in the middle of the day and +1 for having more time to myself. Then again, i'm going to miss my kids for the next few months till tuitions resume and i'm going to miss having so much more $$ at the end of every month.

I think this has got to be one of my wordy-est (if such a word even exists) post ever. Anyway, hope everyone had a great halloween weekend (i spent mine at USS halloween ytd). Till the next x
